Privacy notice

A small preview, with a clear choice about measurement.
This notice covers Scoop’s pre-launch website. There are no accounts, search inputs, newsletter forms or purchases here. Products, prices and activity are samples. That does not mean a visit creates no data.

What happens when you visit
Our hosting provider, Fly.io, receives the network information needed to deliver and protect the website, including your IP address, requested address, browser information and request time. Hosting and security logs may contain this information. This processing supports delivery, reliability and security of the website.
Optional analytics are off by default
Only if you turn analytics on in Privacy choices, we send a page-view event to PostHog’s EU service to understand which preview pages are visited. It includes the page path and a random identifier held in browser memory, not an account identity. We remove query strings, referral information and marketing tags from event properties, disable IP-based geolocation, and do not send an IP event property. PostHog still receives network information when your browser connects to it.
We do not enable click autocapture, session recording, surveys, advertising tracking or visitor profiles. Sentry browser error tracking is currently paused on this preview. Refusing analytics does not affect browsing.
Storage on your device
We use local storage, rather than a cookie, to remember your privacy choice and its date for up to 180 days. Optional analytics use memory only, with no persistent analytics identifier. Clearing site storage resets your choice to off. Older PostHog local-storage identifiers are removed when optional analytics are off, where browser access permits.
Providers and international processing
Fly.io hosts this preview in Johannesburg and operates international infrastructure and support systems. PostHog receives opted-in analytics through its EU service. Provider operations can involve processing outside South Africa. We do not sell visitor information or use it for advertising.
Retention
Your on-device choice expires after 180 days. Turning analytics off stops future events; it does not automatically erase events already received by a provider. Previously collected analytics and diagnostic data can remain in PostHog and Sentry under their configured retention settings. Those settings and hosting-log retention are being verified; we do not yet promise a specific provider deletion period. Contact us about existing records or deletion.
Your choices and rights
You can withdraw optional analytics at any time in Privacy choices. You may ask about information we hold, request access or correction, object to processing, or request deletion where applicable. We may need proportionate verification; with no account identity, we may be unable to link a particular event to you. Please do not send passwords or identity documents in an initial enquiry.
If you email us, your address and message are used to handle your request, not to enrol you in marketing. You can also complain directly to South Africa’s Information Regulator; contacting us first is not a requirement.

We will update this notice before introducing accounts, alerts or other new uses of personal information. This preview notice does not describe an operational price-comparison service.
